I know, All Dinosaurs are extinct and the theory of birds being dinosaurs, and the Mesozoic era, and the volcanoes, and the giant meteor that hit earth, and all that stuff, but I mean, there flying animals, at least some should have survived, I mean come on, there were tiny insects that survived, I bet even a few plats survived, and some water animals. What’s your opinion, because flying animals should stay alive, if there smart enough…
Well, my opinion is that insects are small enough to hide when something big hits the Earth, while pterodactyls were quite large animals, and as all large animals (bigger than a house cat, say) they didn’t survive. Also, besides dust-chocked atmosphere, there might not have been enough food to go around, and even people couldn’t have survived that kind of ecological disaster, and we’re way smarter than pterosaurs.
Whatever happened to cause the mass extinction, it did not destroy the creatures. It destroyed their natural habitats, so even if a Pterodactyl survived, it’s habitat did not. This means Pterodactyl’s became extinct because of their lack of resources.
Some actually believe that a similar creature to a Pterodactyl lives in places such as Papua New Guinea wear a wild beast is said to have injured some, and seen by few….
